FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT Hours: 30 hours a week (to be agreed with the successful candidate)

About the role As our Facilities and
Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our buildings are
clean, tidy, safe and welcoming spaces for our residents, staff and
visitors. You’ll work closely with our
Maintenance Officers, assisting with maintenance and basic repair
works. You’ll undertake cleaning of our offices and communal spaces including
kitchens, lounges and bathrooms of our shared houses to ensure that high
standards are maintained. You will carry out pre-void inspections with our
Housing Officers when residents are preparing to move out and will deep clean
empty properties ready for repair and redecoration works to take place. You’ll
also be responsible for keeping our external spaces and garden areas well
maintained year-round. Safety will be a key part of our role, and you will
follow a range of policies and procedures including COSHH and lone working.

NEW COLLEGE HOUSING OFFICER Hours: 20 hours a week to include some evening work– we’ll agree the days and hours with the successful candidate. Pay: £12.60 (open to negotiation depending on experience and qualifications - pending pay review April 2026)
About the role You’ll be based at New College, our transitional housing service for young adults who are employed, and who don’t need supported housing. You’ll work a mix of day and evening hours to maximise your availability to tenants. Day to day you will undertake AST sign-ups, work with tenants to resolve anti-social behaviour, monitor rent accounts and keep our ArthurOnline tenancy management system up to date. When things don’t work out, you’ll have the confidence to see warnings and evictions through. You will provide basic housing advice and guidance if needed to help our tenants succeed. You’ll have a holistic customer approach and build good relationships with tenants and colleagues. Working closely with our maintenance officers, you’ll support the Senior Housing Officer to ensure voids are kept to a minimum, manage customers’ expectations around repairs as well as escalate any property maintenance issues.

STSA Housing Officer Pay: £12.60 per hour (pending pay review April 2026) About the role You’ll be working with 16-25 year olds in our Short Term Supported Accommodation (STSA) service, across a number of sites. Each of our residents has a named Enablement Officer, providing intensive support for a range of non-housing issues. You’ll work alongside them, providing housing-related support to help them sustain their home whilst they work through their support plan. Our aim is to empower residents to be ready to move on from us and live independently within two years. Day to day you’ll be involved in assessing referrals, resolving anti-social behaviour, monitoring rent accounts and working collaboratively to ensure residents don’t get into debtF. You’ll check health and safety standards are being met in properties each week. When issues are discovered, you will demonstrate innovative and non-judgmental ways to teach practical life skills to help our residents maintain their home safely. When things don’t work out, you’ll have the confidence to issue warnings and to escalate matters when necessary. No two shifts are the same, and your support will make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
